Medication Doses and Vaccines in Hippo
Further Questions
Medications
Medication dosages need to be tailored for each pet based on their weight and the purpose of the meds. Some medications have multiple purposes and can be given at different doses based on the pet's specific needs.

There are many tips and tricks for dosages that are learned over time, but an easy solution when in a pinch is an online dosage calculator such as VPR Cloud's Online Veterinary Dosage Calculator. ALWAYS confirm with the Veterinarian before administering meds or entering a medication script.
Vaccines
Vaccination for pets can be very complicated depending on the pet's history. Cats and dogs have different vaccines and different due dates. However, both cats and dogs should receive three sets of vaccinations and other services starting at eight weeks of age and repeating every 3-4 weeks until they are over 16 weeks of age. A few vaccines for both dogs and cats are good for one year, then three years after that.

For new pets, it is always important to check for any previous vaccination history. After reviewing these, VAs can determine which vaccines may still be needed, and which are due.

Some pets may come to the clinic with no history of vaccination, or no medical history at all. These are treated case-by-case, based on their lifestyle, needs, and owner preferences.
